As a believer in David Ben-Gurion’s vision that the Negev must be developed in order for Israel to achieve its full potential, the Lillian and Larry Goodman Foundation has sought opportunities to enhance the lives of Be’er-Sheva residents, while also attracting tourists to this blossoming city.
When we decided to support the renovations for and the establishment of the Goodman Theater and Acting School, we hoped that it would serve as an important cultural touchstone for the entire Negev. I am proud of the school’s continued growth for both nurturing new talent and offering a
first-rate theater experience. Exceeding our expectations, the Theater and Acting School has grown to be an important institution for the entire county.
The students at the school are not only full of talent; they have a generous spirit and give back to their community. Many are involved in volunteer programs within the city for youth at risk, special needs, and those who need creative fostering.
It is our hope to continue to educate and expand the cultural opportunities for the area youth for generations to come.
